About Us
About The Groomers Kimberly grew up in rural Matteson, IL on the family farm. Her family has always owned dogs (and cats and sometimes fish) and she always wanted to do something with animals. Kim graduated high school from Rich East in Park Forest a semester early to attend grooming school in Frankfort, IL. She has been grooming and eating up any information on our domestic friends as much as she possibly can since then! Her favorite breed to groom is the Standard Poodle or American Pit Bull Terrier and she really loves to deshed as well! Outside of grooming, she enjoys spending time with her and Devin's babies, sewing, drawing and writing. Devin grew up all over the United States - starting with his birth place of Florida. His family has always owned pets be it dogs, cats, rodents or snakes. He graduated from Denton High School in Texas and started working at CVS Caremark. He moved to Illinois to be with Kimberly in 2009 where he caught the grooming bug and began to attend grooming school. Devin enjoys and excels at handstripping terriers - a dying skill, but an important one in the grooming world. In June 2012, Devin quit working at CVS to work with Kimberly full time. Outside of grooming, Devin enjoys being an amazing daddy (according to Kimberly, Cassidy, Torben & Merrick) working on cars, cooking, writing and playing video games. We support education for pet owners and strive to provide the best care for our client's pets. We believe in health for pets inside and out and work with our clients as a team. Further Education We attend as many seminars and still try to make as many connections with groomers with skills that exceed our own. This is a constantly moving profession and we want to be sure we are moving with it in the right direction! |
Our first two legged child was born at home with a midwife team in December 2013. Her name is Cassidy (or Cass.) She is incredibly social and has such a sensitive, kind heart. Cass is extremely passionate about animals, horseback riding, reading (about animals, of course,) and has an entrepreneur heart. She would love to own her own pet boutique, grooming shop and boarding kennel one day.
Torben (or Tor) was born in August of 2015 at home. He is incredibly inquisitive, engrossing himself in a task, but his smile can light up a room. Usually he can be found building with Legos, burning through another book or inventing a new vehicle, be it boat, plane or car, blue prints included. He is an engineer at heart, wanting to own his own car manufacturing company one day. Merrick (or Mack) was born in May of 2020 at home with an amazing midwife! Mack is an absolute moose and is stubborn as a mule. He keeps us laughing, deciding to be the comedian of the family. If you think of a "classic boy," that's Mack. Huey is a 11 year old 9lb Terrier mix. He was rehomed to us by a long time client whose situation changed in December 2017. He's a rambunctious little snuggle bug and a terrier through and through! Fane is a 6 year old American Bulldog. He was rehomed to us and fit in immediately. Fane is one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs you could ever meet. An absolute couch potato who would love to lay with you all day. Deluxe (or Dellie) is a 1 year old Standard Poodle. We purchased her from a fellow groomer as a puppy. She is incredibly intelligent, one of the smartest dogs we've had the privilege of owning. Fetch and rough housing are her favorite activities. That Man is a Success "Who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; Who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; Who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy or a perfect poem or a rescued soul; Who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; Who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had." -Robert Louis Stevenson In loving memory of Leroy "Popeye" Stege B: May 8th, 1945 D: May 19th, 2021 A devoted Dad, Grandpa, friend to many. Thank you for the lessons you taught me, from what not to be, to what I should aspire to be. For my simple love of the fresh dirt, to the quiet peace in nurturing a plant to grow. Thank you for helping build my purpose, and keep me on the right path. There isn't a day we don't miss you. “The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master.” -Ben Hur Lampman In loving memory of Theodore & Jake. Our beloved four legged boys, our yin and yang. A thousand years would never have been enough. |
